Written 9/5/03...please give some feadback!! this poem has a special meaning for me, and i hope everyone one of you find your own special meaning in it.

Once or twice I look inside,

"He's gone" they say, he's gone.

Fighting for freedom

Fighting for his right to survive.

Gone he is, away he is,

For us to live in dignity.

Sacrifices hit the soul,

As gunshots ring in the air.

Smell of death and tears

Is just too strong to disapear.

A war that is not fair,

A war that is not just,

But a war that must be done.

-Denise Oliveras
