Wow you are just so good at remembering diane elaine, you make Daddy
Owlen so proud of you!  When babygirl got the pat on the butt she took 
off running just as fast as she could, and we all know that was very 
very fast for such a sweet little girl! 

Running flat out pretending Daddy Owlen was chasing her diane elaine ran
and ran until she was finally out of breath and got all giggly again!  
She finally let herself fall down in the big field of Dandelions way 
way down the edge of the Forrest near the grove of Know trees. 

Lying on the ground diane elaine decided to roll around for a while and
enjoy the feel of the nice soft warm grass that the big old silly sun 
had warmed up with his soft giving sunshine.  There were so many pretty 
dandelions growing in the grass however that diane elaine couldn't 
resist plucking some of them and making up little games with them.  In 
very short order she was walking through them on her knees pretending 
to be the Dandelion queen parading through the happy city of all her 
loyal Dandelion subjects!  To make herself look more like the Dandelion 
Queen she had stuck a bunch of the pretty flowers all up in her hair 
and had even rubbed some of them on her rosy little cheeks making them 
look as if they were blushing yellow instead of pink!  And oh the fresh 
Dandelion people of her kingdom all smelled so good, and fresh and 
alive with happiness to be squished under her knees as she knee walked 
though her imaginary Dandelion city.  After finishing the parade and 
stopping for some imaginary tea and crumpets diane elaine started to 
get bored with the job of being Dandelion queen and decided to move on 
to her next game, do you remember this one too babygirl? 

Next babygirl happened to see a sign at the edge of the forest and being
seven she could read it.  The sign said, Welcome to the Grove of Know 
Trees!  Puzzled she read the sign again and then a third time she read 
it aloud. 

"Daddy Owlen?  How can there be a Grove with No Trees?" She asked. 

Fortunately Daddy Owlen was just passing by picking up windblown sticks
for tonight's campfire and putting them in his wheel barrow to wheel 
back to the house. 

"Silly girl!" Daddy Owlen replied, "those are not NO trees those are
KNOW trees, the Know things!" 

"What kind of things Daddy?" diane elaine asked in her sweet little
voice. 

"Well babygirl, ask them a question and see for yourself," he said with
a big smile on his face and in his voice. 

Babygirl  hadn't figured it out yet but Daddy Owlen loved coming to the
Grove of Know trees because they just knew soo much and were always 
telling him new and interesting things! 

"Know trees?" His bright little babygirl asked sweetly, "What should I
know?" 

In a deep rumbling voice one of the trees replied "What kind of box has
no key and no lid and yet golden treasure inside is hid?" 

Well babygirl diane elaine knew the answer to that one cause she had
heard Daddy Owlen teasing people with riddles many times.  "That's an 
Egg Mr. Know Tree!" she piped up immediately, if not a little sooner 
even. 

"Ah a wise asker", said the next tree in the grove. "Tell us then, what
defeats all Kings, kills all men, destroys all bad things and even 
tears the high mountains down?" 

"Time!" she piped up, for she had heard this sort of riddle from Daddy
Owlen many times as well, "Only time can destroy all things of this 
world!" 

"Excellent" said the third tree, "but how far is the east from the west
a little wise one?" 

"Daddy Owlen, I need your help for this one" she said sweetly giving her
Daddy a bright happy smile, knowing he couldn't resist helping her out. 


"Well sweetie, God made the world shaped like a big round peach, and no
matter how far East you think you are going eventually you end up just 
west of where you started." 

"OH!" diane elaine exclaimed, "That means the east is right next to the
west all the time!" 

"Very good little one" the Know tree said, "but because you got help we
can not ask any more riddles of you today.  Be well." 

"OK sweetie" Daddy Owlen said, "I think I have enough sticks for
tonight's campfire, want to ride on my shoulders back to the house?" 

“Promise to hold me tight so I don't fall?” 

“Of course babygirl, Daddy Owlen doesn't want you to fall you might bump
your bottom really hard on the ground if that were to happen!” 

Crouching down with his hands holding tight on the wheel barrow handle
Daddy Owlen felt little diane elaine scramble right up his back and 
slip her long knobby little girl legs right around his neck. 

Carefully standing up straight Daddy Owlen kept babygirl's feet trapped
between his elbows and ribs so that she was secure while at the same 
time he could easily push the wheel barrow back to the house.  His 
babygirl just loved riding on Daddy's shoulders, it just made her feel 
so tall!  And the feel of the muscles in his shoulders under her little 
thighs was just electric, like she could feel how wonderfully strong he 
was, it just made her feel all warm and fuzzy and safe to know her big 
strong Daddy could protect her from anything!  Of Corse in never ever 
land there was nothing to be protected from, but it still felt all nice 
and safe and just so special to know Daddy Owlen was here to protect 
her and give her a ride back to the House too! 

She had had such a busy morning she was all tuckered out, but first
momma had prepared a wonderful lunch, Daddy Owlen's favorite!  When 
they got all the way back to the house, after chattering about nothing 
important the whole way, Daddy Owlen crouched down and let go of the 
wheel barrow handles, then he grabbed diane elaine by her pretty little 
hips and lifted her straight up!  Why before she knew what was 
happening Daddy Owlen had lifted her up so she was standing on his 
shoulders and she felt so tall and powerful! 

That's when babygirl saw lunch way over by the house on the Picnic
table, a great big bowl of salad and some Linguine Alfredo momma had 
made up just like Olive Garden does it!  Holding babygirl firmly with 
his arms outside her legs Daddy Owlen walked the two of them over for 
their picnic, just like momma had expected him too!  Giving babygirl a 
quick little toss up and stepping back Daddy Owlen caught her in a 
reverse bear hug from behind before setting her down on her own two 
feet again so they could sit down for grace and lunch. 

Daddy Owlen sat at the head of the table with babygirl on his left and
momma on his right.  Winking at babygirl he clasped his hands together 
tightly in fervrent prayer and said "Grace!  Lets eat!" 

Laughing momma just shook her head and served out the salad.  It was all
nice and yummy with Dandelion Greens from the meadow and cucumbers and 
tomatoes from the garden, and that special salad dressing she made so 
well!  Not to mention all the yummy cheese sprinkled on top of it!  It 
was so good before she knew it babygirl had eaten her whole serving of 
the yummy salad and Momma was dishing out the Linguine Alfredo! 

Those long flat noodles sure were a lot more fun to slurp up than
Spaghetti, they kind of flipped up and smacked her across her little 
button nose if she slurped them in fast enough!  Because they were 
eating picnic style outside Daddy Owlen and Momma didn't care if she 
had a little fun with her lunch, just as long as she ate it all and 
didn't let any go to waste.  After all the pigs out back of the barn 
didn't deserve to eat Momma's good home cooking, it was with love for 
her family, not the livestock or pets! 

Before she knew it diane elaine was all stuffed full of Momma delicious
lunch and was yawning wider and wider ready for her mid afternoon nap. 

Daddy Owlen picked up precious babygirl and carried her giggling up to
her bed where he gave her his special tucking treatment.  Starting all 
the way down at the toes he tucked in her feet, then her legs, lightly 
pushing the sheet under them with his finger tips, moving up to her 
thighs, quickly past her little girl bottom to her sides. 

“Arms up sweetie” Daddy said. Diane smiled and raised her arms up high
as Daddy tucked the sheet up her sides and under her armpits. 

Once babygirl lowered her arms he leaned over and kissed her on the
forehead before whispering “Daddy loves you babygirl, sleep well.”  She 
saw him smiling at her as she drifted off to sleep.
