PART 2 - LAST CHAPTER

FIFTEEN

On the Hispaniola, the pirate crew slapped each other on the back and
danced around the gun. Someone carved another notch next to a long row
on the Bridge wall above it. Groggily, the Bosun got to his feet. Blaze
leaned against the wall, crying.

“The cabin boy next or are ye givin us the chart?” Kydd asked.

Kane screwed his eyes shut and bowed his head. “Give them it,” he told
the Android.

Kydd grinned. “Seein sense at last, eh Cap'n?” he remarked.

Reluctantly the Android unzipped her jumpsuit top and turned showing her
tanned smooth upper back. The pirates stopped dancing around and eyed
her up appreciatively.

She held her ponytail aside. “The disc at the top of my back,” she said
to Kane, looking over her shoulder. “Remove it.”

Kane looked puzzled. The small silver discs on Androids' spines couldn't
be removed.

“Remove it!” she said forcefully and leaned over a console.

A dagger thudded into the floor next to Kane's boot. “Use that,” said
Kydd, grinning at him.

Kane bent and removed the wicked looking dagger then strolled over to
the Android and examined the disc. It was the usual type, one inch in
diameter and lay embedded in what looked like soft tanned skin. He
hesitated.

“Get on with it!” growled Kydd. “Or the Bosun here'll do it.”

The Bosun grinned his gold-toothed grin and looked as if he would have
enjoyed it.

Reluctantly Kane bent over the Android and with a steady hand, inserted
the tip of the dagger next to the disc. A shudder ran through the
Android's body and to Kane's surprise, blood started dripping from the
wound. He continued cutting round the disc and more blood dripped to
the floor.

“Fancy robots they make these days, eh Bosun?” Kydd remarked, seeing the
blood.

“Pretty as well!” said the Bosun, licking his lips.

Kane slowly circled the disc and the Android clenched her teeth and
perspiration beaded her forehead.

Kane had now circled the disc with the dagger and he inserted the tip
under it. “Ready?” he asked.

The Android nodded and he flipped the disc from her spine, tearing off
small strips of surrounding skin. A scream almost escaped from her but
she bit it back.

She zipped up the top of her jumpsuit and took the disc from him, wiping
it clean on her trousers. Unscrewing it, she removed a smaller disc
from the inside and held it up.

“The co-ordinates to get you through the Black Hole,” she told Kydd.
“The chart, as you call it.”

She walked over to the Ship's Drive console and fed the disc in. She
tapped in some keyboard commands and shortly afterwards a long set of
figures appeared on a monitor.

“Your Computer now has the co-ordinates,” she said to Kydd. “So go.”

Kydd grinned at her. “You're comin with us,” he told her. “I'm sure the
lads'll want some sport wi ye when we're through.”
