“Things have taken a turn for the surreal.” Captain John Miller, Saving
Private Ryan

I haven’t gotten any new recruits yet. I will though.

But what I have done is get some more information.

I know how to put subliminal messages into TV broadcasts.

I know how to get into the school computer, and how to change names, and
how to... Forget it. You’ll see soon. I’ll make sure of that.

Chaos. Isn’t that a nice word? I’m going to be remembered for what has
started here. I’m going to be recognized everywhere I go. What I start
today, will be studied, and thought about, and used for years to come.
I’m taking responsibility for everyone’s actions now. It’s time to
start.

I started talking to the group about what we’re going to do. They trust
me.

I said, “Okay guys, you were all part of the MTV crowd at one point. We
all were. But then we all realized that something was wrong, that the
crowd was wrong. We realized that we were part of something that was
all going to get worse. So we left. We left the group. And we all
realized, that for once, we could think for ourselves. And it was a
great feeling. But because of that feeling, we can’t help but feel
sorry for the people that don’t think for themselves. The people who
stayed longer are now brainwashed, and you want to help them. You try
to tell them to stop, but they don’t. You’ve lost them for good. And
that’s why you’re here.” I’m telling them this in my room.

“You have to be prepared for that fact that you need to take extreme
measures to get extreme effects. You can’t just say ‘Hey, stop doing
what your doing.’ You have to cut off the hand that grabs them to make
them free. And then they will start falling, looking for something to
grab on to, something to support them. They will be falling down a
never-ending hole. That’s the point. We need to work together. We’re
not going to do this bit by bit. We’re going to gather up our resources
fast. Then launch it all at once. TV, Radio, School. Hit it hard, hit
it fast.”

I was showing them ways to do their job, how to hack into the school
systems, how to be fearless. “Don’t fear authority, they’ll only hold
you back. And the only way you can do this with me is you need to cut
off the hands that grab you. For now on, you will do what the rules I
make say. You will report here everyday after school. And on weekends,
you will have the job of recruiting someone. If you don’t, you will
simply not be able to work with us on our mission for half the week.”

Right now, even as I write this, I’m coming up with rules.

I can’t tell you what they are yet.

“So right now, it’s a Tuesday. You have nothing to do yet. Tomorrow, we
start the work. You guys are dismissed.” They leave. I stay. No
questions. No pauses while walking. They left with a salvaged look on
their faces. I am their savior. I am their leader. No questions. They
trust me.
