Goddess of Spring (standard:poetry, 69 words)
Author: SareAdded: Mar 17 2002Views/Reads: 1871/0Story vote: 0.00 (0 votes)
a drive in the country in mid-march

worn-out fields and tired trees,

weary from winter's fight

stand like frozen statues

in nature's barren gallery.

breath of floral-scented breeze,

soft crash of wave on river-bank

raindrops like pebbles on aching snow

a black bear's waking yawn.

fresh leaves in all their tender glory,

timid blossoms spreading their wings...

rays of sunshine like warriors spearing,

newborn sparrows take to flight.

the goddess of spring arrives.
