A poem that deals with the pain of the broken relationship and the importance memories play.

I Don't Have Time To Be Happy

I don't have time to think about you

I'm to fast in covering the pain

nothing you can do effects me now

when I heard Memphis Murphy

singing that lonesome song

tears welled up I sheared them away

we always thought romance a cliche

never was going to have a "song"

and yet we did anyway

take this your shirt back

it's the one we spilled the gravy on

remember that picnic where we made love

take it back I don't have the time to clean it

you want a special autograph collage

and here it is don't you see I don't have time

take it and never let me see it again

and while you're at it take your carebear collection

and all those fancy toys you once owned

I remember staying up playing video games all night long

take these memories away from me

my time is entirely to ate up with misery

take my heart while you're at it too

I don't have time to give it to another
