Three years had passed since then. Claire still sent Chris birthday
cards or letters on other occasions. She never put personal thoughts in 
it though. She worked very hard so as the thoughts about Chris won't go 
inside her head. 

Her mother called her one evening, two weeks before Thanksgiving. 

'You have to come home this Thanksgiving, child' Mrs. Perchant said
after a brief opening. 

'I'll see if I'm not too busy, mother' 

'But you have to. Your sister is having her wedding' 

'Shari? This is good news! On Thanksgiving? I'll be there. Where is she,
I want to talk to her' Claire was surprised. 

'She's still out. I will tell her to call you herself once she had
arrived' 

'Send her my congratulations!' 

'You can tell her yourself this on Thanksgiving, dear' 

'Wow, Shari is going on with full speed, isn't she?' 

'No, she's not. It is you who is taking the slow lane. Oh, there's
another call waiting on the line. It might be important. I have to go, 
Claire' 

'I will be there this Thanksgiving' Claire said before her mother hung
up. 

Claire turned on the TV and idly browse the channels while her mind went
back home. Shari is getting married. Her little sister is getting 
married. She smiled. Time flies so fast. It felt like it was yesterday 
when Shari followed her around and she had to yell at her to leave her 
be. Now her little sister is getting married. 

A commercial on new albums by some artist was aired on TV. The record
company was the one Chris Warren worked in. Claire wondered what Chris 
was doing now. Like her, he had kept his words as minimum as well. Her 
parents might have invited the Warrens. She will get to see them, and 
maybe Chris. He always went back for holidays.
