As long as the sun shines, there must be hope. Thank you to Ben for your suggestions in the preliminary stages of this one!

It started out a lot brighter

Than it was at the end of the day,

If only it could have stayed bright

I'd have happier things to say.

.

How does the weather manipulate

What I'm feeling inside?

When it's raining I should be happy

Without it all life would have died.

.

When the sun is up in the sky

Pouring down its life giving rays,

I think back to early childhood

When happiness shone all days.

.

When the rain starts to pour

And the air grows so cold,

Plants look up and thank the gods,

While inside me the darkness unfolds.

.

We get this kind of feeling

That when it rains we are sad,

And that when the sun is shining

We should all be happy and fab.

.

When it rains we need to be glad

That the water isn't up to our necks,

And when we hear that there's a drought

At least we aren't thirsty as heck!

.

I've noticed while writing this

That I can see a glimmer of hope,

Perhaps there is a chance for me yet

On this Earth on which we must cope.

.

Over the last couple of years

It's got harder for me to live,

In this world we're devastating

Grinding up like a great big sieve.

.

But the words of some kind people

Have helped sun shine a bit brighter;

Thank you all who've said good words to me

For making that heaviness lighter.
