What does 'love' mean?

Love has become 

A four letter word 

It's past its best, 

And seldom heard, 


It's left on the shelf 

Like cigarettes 

Bad for your health. 


I remember 

When I was but a kid, 

From responsibly 

We all hid, 


Falling in love 

What a joke it was 

From way above. 


Now I'm older 

And I know how people think, 

They're after one thing 

Makes my heart sink, 


That's how animals are 

We know that love 

Isn't pure by far. 


And when you've said 

"I love you" 

It's never meant 

Though you think you do, 


We are just the same 

As all other species 

We play the game. 


No one loves 

With all their heart,
