Chapter 4 

Next thing you know, it was back to work for Chris. Steve hadn't said
much of anything to him about the night before. Usually, when they had 
big dates, they told each other what had happened. So thinking that 
Steve forgot, Chris just decided to bring up the subject himself. 

“ I went out with Cadhla last night, you remember the girl that came in
here, with those bright green eyes?” 

“ Yeah, what about her?” 

“ Our date was amazing, I'm telling you man... she is so cool.” 

“ She has already, put her spell on you.” 

“ What?” 

“ You heard me... ever since you met her, you've changed that's all I'm
saying.” 

“ No I haven't.” 

“ Bull... let me ask you, did you sleep with her yet?” After a long
pause from Chris, he finally said no. “ Told you.” 

“ Look man, I'll prove it to you, we have a date Monday, that'll be the
night.” 

“ Sure it will.” Steve replied sarcastically. 

Without another word on the subject, the two of them didn't say anything
to one another the entire night. Chris was starting to panic, maybe 
what Steve said was true. Maybe Cadhla had changed him..... he didn't 
know what to think. He really felt something special when he was with 
Cadhla, but he didn't want to believe that a girl could change him so 
easily. NO! That is what he told himself, he would not let Cadhla 
change him, and have all the guys think that he was a loser. He made up 
his mind right then and there, that he would have sex with Cadhla, and 
then break up with her before Homecoming. He didn't want to hurt 
Cadhla, however he figured that she would understand, what excuse would 
he give? She had done nothing wrong, and he had made it seem like she 
was the world to him... how would he be able to break it off like that? 
Then he thought of an excuse he figured would work with all girls... 
that he had just got of a great relationship, that ended very badly, 
and he wanted some time to himself. Yes, that would be the answer. 
Then, when he was ready, and the guys understood, he could ask her back 
out. Ever since their first date, they had called each other, she would 
call him at work, or at home. Then he would call her, when she was home 
also, or he would even text message her, while she was out with her 
friends. That way, he figured that they could still stay close, so that 
when Monday came, she would want to give in. 

Monday finally came, he was very uncomfortable, because Cadhla looked
great and she was so happy to see him. She had on a black halter top, a 
jean jacket, because she claimed to be cold... it was 75 degrees 
outside though.  Her hair was pulled back in a ponytail and she had 
jeans on with white tennis shoes, even when she wasn't that dressed up, 
he found her irresistibly beautiful. He decided to take her to the 
beach, where they could enjoy the sunset, but his main reason for 
taking her there was to talk to her. “ Are you sure your okay Cadhla?” 
Chris asked her, she was shivering the whole time, and he couldn't 
believe it, it wasn't cold at all outside. 

“ Yes, I'm fine. It is very beautiful out here.” She managed to smile. 

“ That's not what I meant, you know what I meant. Your shivering and
it's not cold at all... that's the way you've been acting lately, do 
you swear your okay?” 

Deep down, Cadhla knew she wasn't, but she was in complete denial and
just managed a yes to Chris. Then all of the sudden, she was resting 
her head on his shoulder, he just froze not knowing what to do next. 
Then he lifted her head and kissed her, then moving down her neck. She 
knew what he wanted, then pulled back to a safe distant between them.
