Come Hell Or High Water (standard:poetry, 100 words)

I was challenged to write a poem with the words "through patchwork fields." This is one about a woman who will let nothing stop her from loving the man who has the keys to her heart.

Come Hell or High Water

~

Through rough patchwork fields

you call to me.

As loud as church bells

ringing in the wide open country,

as clear as the deep blue sky,

I hear your heart's voice.

But you're nowhere

to be found.

~

Cry louder!

My heart screams.

Come closer!

My body feels you nearby.

Where are you?

My mind sees your light ahead.

Making my way through the rows

I answer your call.

~

No matter where you are,

how far you travel,

our love will always

lead me back to you.
