|When it's something good we have a saying in the South. "Come hell or high water I'm going to do it." This poem was inspired by that saying.|
Come Hell or High Water * Through rough patchwork fields you call to me. As loud as church bells ringing in the wide open country, as clear as the deep blue sky, I hear your heart's voice. But you're nowhere to be found. * Cry louder! My heart screams. Come closer! My body feels you nearby. Where are you? My mind sees your light ahead. Making my way through the rows I answer your call. * No matter where you are, how far you travel, our love will always lead me back to you. © March 23, 2009 by Lori Tweet
