This is more or less dedicated to my boy friend who is leaving in a few months for boot camp.

I knew what I was getting into when I told you I would be yours.

My heart was beating relentlessly against my chest, and the words rushed
to my mouth as I told you that I would give you my heart. I knew then,
although it wasn't the first thing on my mind, of the sacrifice I would
make. You had other commitments to keep your word to. These commitments
would require you to be away for a while. I told you that I would stand
by your side. I know boot camp is long, and tedious, but I'll just have
to remind you that:

No distance is too great, no time is too long, because I will be right
here waiting for you to return. The tears will fall, and I will break,
but nothing will hold me back from waiting for you.

I must remember though, as I await for your return, that you'll never be
gone, just away. Although you're a thousand miles away, I will stand
firm, and unwavering. I'll stand by your side, and be your support when
you need it. I'll find a way to send my love in the letter marked for
you, and let you know that I'm proud of you.

I'll tell you that I can't wait for you to return, but until then I'll
love you always. I'll tell you that you're forever in my heart, and I'm
right here waiting for you. I'll wrap this up now, and put it to rest.

I'll never be gone, just away.
