I smiled and patted her hand, Soon my dear, I will be gone, don't you worry a biscuit, but until I'm out of here, I will enjoy what I can and do as I please. I laughed at her worried expression and bid her goodnight. Soon I will be able to join him and we shall be together forever. I know that he is somewhat of a fantasy, an image created from a young woman's heart, carried out into her later years. But still, I think I would prefer my magical love than anything else. This world is a lonely one and I can no longer bare it. Tomorrow when I go to him, my body shall die, the pool of dark water shall disappear, probably only to appear somewhere else where it is needed by another lonely heart and I shall be able to live with him in that distant land. And if it is all a dream, then so be it, I shall dream and be happy, and I am willing to live with that possibility. I closed my eyes and smiled, Amelia will be fine. And tomorrow, well, tomorrow I shall do as I always do. My mind drifted outward towards darkness and into the darkness I whispered, soon, my love. Silently an image appeared on the surface of the calm water. It was a reflection of a young woman's face, beside her a young man, together they held each other so tight, as if afraid the other would fade away and slowly the image disappeared. Tweet
