A friend of mine recently broke up with his girlfriend. I wanted to write something to let him know I knew what he was feeling and came up with this.

What happened to the dreams 

of a white wedding dress? 

I'll tell you what happened. 

I'll give you a clue. 

But first, 

let me mend 

my heart with crazy glue. 

For you see, 

I am now broken. 

The love I cherished, 

thought was so pure, 

will now go unspoken. 

You broke me and left me to rot. 

I hope someday 

you'll be something I've forgot. 

I sit here and think of you, 

crying out in pain, 

wondering if you ever really cared. 

You left me to face this alone. 

You have abandoned me 

to the forces of nature. 

And the only thing I can feel is 

Heartbroken.
