I was looking out into the forest one day... Our neighborhood is building new houses and all, and then suddenly a poem of trees popped up into my head. | |||
Part One "Come closer and you will see." But I can't, my feet remain planted at your roots. I can't be swallowed up by your alluring arms, too. There are many who have journeyed in your midst, and never came back. No, I can never walk with creatures, like you. "Come and you will see." The whisper drifts after me when I turn away. Part Two And again I am faced with that decision, you even have your band of motley songbirds warbling for your sake. "Come closer, this is real love." No, I don't believe in love. The songbirds swoop in closer, they close on me chirping, warbling, but never vicious, only pleading. I'm sorry, but I can't travel in your midst, this is my home... ...the other world.
