when someone isn't what you thought they were

i sigh, staring out the window 

the weather is just like my mood; 

bleak and darkening 

i'd thought he was different 

but it turns out he's just like the rest 

my hope dwindles 

the strong rope becoming a thread 

i feel lost 

wandering down a long curvy road alone 

that's how i feel now; 

alone 

everything i believed about him is being questioned 

i sit, my mind unable to cheer 

it's almost my birthday, i should be happy 

why now? 

then again, why at all? 

i feel used, and pointless 

the song changes, annoyingly upbeat 

i don't want to listen to this shit right now 

i want a song that's as depressed as i am 

but as i listen to it 

my head hurts, tired of being unhappy 

forget it 

i'll forget about it 

it doesn't matter
