I AM BLESSED

I am blessed

My tears this day flow
from mixed emotions
and my heart is overflowing
as I gaze at the beautiful bride
who is my daughter

Love, happiness and pride
fill my heart for this child
love of my life, heart of my heart
as she stands at the altar
gazing thoughtfully and lovingly
at the man standing by her side

I am blessed

Always prudent and thoughtful
when considering decisions and choices
of life-changing magnitude
she stands before us now
filled with love and hope
in anticipation of the journey
which lies ahead

My heart is filled with thankfulness
as I think of the happiness and joy
she has brought to my life

a contented happy baby
a thoughtful loving child
a young woman who shares with me
the closeness and communication
often reserved for best friends

I am blessed
