Basically it tells the story of how a young man grew up to witness a infamous attack on the center of our community. The Big Apple, New York City. It is a simple story yet tells a lot more then perceived.

The Life of Frank Mossino By: “Edgar”

On the 11th of September 1981, a new life was created. A life that was
very important to a certain women. A women who tried for 6yrs to have a
child, but finally, after 6yrs of pain, and longing for a life of her
own, finally got what she wanted. She named the child Frank. And Frank
will turn out to be a witness in one of the most tragic, horrifying
events in U.S. history.

I always thought I had a cheerful, relatively happy childhood. During
my toddler stage, I was a shy boy, who had a strong, intricate,
personality that most people liked. I didnt show my strong aplitudes in
the study of photography till i received a camera in my hands. I got
that camera on my 15th birthday, just 5 years ago. I remember holding
the sleek, mettalic camera, and thinking “What am i gonna do with this?
Hmm... I better pretend I like it, I dont wanna be rude”. I
specifically remember setting the camera down on my bed, staring at it,
and running outside to go play with my friends, before I had to eat my
birthday cake. While we were playing, one of my friends shouted out
loud “Oh my god! Watch out Frank!” Thats when a blue Corvette came
screeching down the road, with its wheels burning, and pillars of smoke
flaming out from the hood. It narrowely swerved by me, flipped over,
landed on its side finally slammed into a light pole, at nearly 85
miles per hour! I felt so....so shocked! I couldnt react at all..It
felt like someone pressed “stop” on a vcr. All i could think about was
that i was alive. Then slowly but surely, my brain started crankin its
gears again and I then realized the situation. It took a second, but i
took in that a car flipped over on its side and crashed into a pole.
Then i remembered that there were actual people inside! Apparently, my
friends were still in shock, standing there with there mouths gaping,
and wide eyed. I was the first to react. I ran home, screaming and
babbling to my mother. She finally sat me down and asked me to take a
deep breath and tell her what happened. When i finally got my
disorganized thoughts in order, I sceamed to her “There's been a car
accident!! Call the ambulance!" after a few panicy moments. My mother
called the police. An ambulance was on its way. There was absolutley
nothing I could do now, the entire car was on fire. So I walked
upstairs to try to sort my thoughts. That's when I noticed the camera.
I grabbed some film and loaded it up. I went to my window and started
taking shots of the car. While I was shooting, I noticed that
somethings was being thrown out of the car. I couldn't tell what it was
so I zoomed in a little. Then I found out that they were beer bottles!!
There were survivors!! Then I thought, why are they throwing beer
bottles out of the car? They should be trying to escape! I relized,
slowly, because that's how they got into a accident in the first place!
By drunk driving!! Finally the ambulance came and used the jaws of
life to rescue the shaken survivors. None were in critical
condition....except for a few broken bones.

A few weeks later, I saw cops investigating the scene where the crash
occurred. I asked the police officer on the scene what they were
looking for. “How this stupid beautiful car crashed in the first
place?” he replied to me. “I don't understand. The blood test show they
werent under the ifluence of drugs or alchol. There was no evidence in
the car either” I hated to say it but I told the officer that this had
been a case of bad crime preservation. I told him that I had taken
pictures of the passenger of the cars, flinging beer bottles out and
into alley way. He asked me if he could have them, and see if their
legit. I said gladly and ran to get them. When he saw the photo's he
said they were perfect. They would radically change the court hearing.
He said that maybe the victims of the driver would be avenged. I asked
him “ what victims?” He said that before they crashed, they ran over 2
innocent children, instanly killing them. I said that's horrible and
I'm glad I could help. Those photo's brought the victims to justice and
put the murderors in the jail for life sentences. That started my love
for photography.

I'm twenty years old now. Today is September 11-2001. It feels like an
ordinary day. I'm in Manhattan. I have my camera by my side and I feel
happy. Content. I feel succseful . I'm a fool. I'm feelin hungry so I
stop by a bagel shop for a bite to eat. It's about 9....9:30. I hear
the whine of a jet and I think to myself...”Hey. Isnt there a law about
planes flying that low in cities, especially in New York?” I go outside
to investigate when I have a sudden feeling in my stomach. The same
apprehensive feeling I felt that moment the car crashed in front of me.
