War Amongst Brothers (standard:poetry, 252 words)

A poem about a story I am writing.

Who could prove the greater foe than one's own older brother? Whose
jealous rage boiled within from lack of love from mother Who then in 
turn acted out such rage against the younger son. And burned in symbols 
of such shame into the flesh of one. On his back he did inscribe the 
blasphemous psalms of Grim. So that the shame, which prophesized, would 
not transpire on him. 

Out of such pain and sad betrayal birthed from such a hate. The youngest
son, scarred and shunned, would not accept his fate. And so he rose to 
become a man of honor, though, not completely sane. Gave men hope and 
freed many worlds with reverence instead of shame. Though scars of 
infamy adorned his body and his tactics not quite approved He gained 
the love of many and in his victories did prove. 

Older son, angered and envious, of his brother's eminence. Joined the
side of Grim and birthed his own traitorous shame. He thought he'd 
broken the youngest son but found his attempts in vain. The youngest 
son fought back bravely. And proved his worth and tactics stately. Then 
in the end did younger son triumph over older. Left his brother's ashes 
in the wreckage of hatred to smolder. 

So in his haste to destroy the younger, the older brother failed. Though
in a way of no love did he actually prevail? Younger son, scarred and 
shunned, though adored by only mother. Only wanted just one thing, the 
love of only brother.
