asking whether or not we see outside ourselves

have i lost my way 

when a child cries and i can't 

wipe away their tears 

i do less than i know i can do 

i act indifferent to all 

i ignore all 

i loose site of my goals, my loves my passions 

i no longer care about myself or more importantly, others 

i withdraw from life 

i fail to look up and see the brightness of the day 

i fail to feel the fresh breeze that washes away the old and stale 

i fail to feel the cool waters that provide refreshment and life 

i fail to feel the warmth of the sun, the security of the ground and the
comfort comfort of an extended hand 

I sometime feel that i tread this path alone 

but i don't for many before and after me will do the same. 

it's the here and now blinders that i see. 

maybe it's time to remove those to see all of the here and now
