I got the idea for this piece from two places. The first one from a writing group who's challenge was to write a poem on change. The other from a license plate frame with this one it. Please let me know what you think.

The Ark Saved Noah, The Cross Saved Me

By: Lori

There once was a man,

Who believed the world would end.

He took his faith in God,

And built an Ark.

He brought the animals two by two.

Saved them to reproduce.

No one believed this man told the truth.

They now rest in the flames of Hell.

~

There is a woman,

Who was born for greater things.

She lived a life of abuse.

No one believed her.

She took her faith in Christ,

And threw it out the window.

Her soul rests in the flames of Hell.

~

The man saw it rain,

For forty days and forty nights.

God kept his promise,

To save the man and his kind.

A dove returned with an olive branch.

To show the flood waters were receding.

A question he was asked before the flood.

“Do you want to live or die?”

“Live,” He answered quickly.

The change has begun.

~

The woman's soul cries out in pain.

She does the only thing she can do.

She chooses to end it all,

To leave this world behind.

She hears a voice cry out in the night.

“Do you want to live or die?”

“Live,” Her soul cries.

The change is beginning.
