The name Bata is synanamous with shoes in India. Years ago, practically there is no town in India without BATA shoe store.

“There are many other brands that sell shoes as good or better 

than Bata brand in India  now, but still one can find Bata shoe stores 

here and there but certainly lost its number one position long time 

ago, but the name Bata for shoes was permanently remains in Indians 

lexicon.” 

“That's good to know.” 

“if you were to travel to India, mentioning your last name at a 

Bata store, I can guarantee you could get you a discount on shoes,” 

Juggernaut gave a suggestion. 

“That would be a long journey to buy shoes.” 

“You can make a side trip to see Taj Mahal.” 

“If I ever visit India, I am sure I will enjoy looking at my 

last name on sign boards at Bata shoes stores.” 

Though Juggernaut did not fell into the sales pitch to buy a 

policy from Mr. Bata, he appeared not disappointed at all; perhaps he 

felt good about his famous last name.
