“I don't know but he has brown sickly skin.” 

“May be the apple skin do more good for him than to you to 

improve his skin complexion.” 

“He ate the apple fruits without skin as a health food.” 

“At any time had he gave you a piece of apple at all?” 

“May be once or twice he gave us a small piece to eat along 

with the peelings.” 

“You should have refused to accept the apple skin, it was 

insulting,” Juggernaut sounded irritated. 

“I was only 7 years old and Lakshmi was two years younger to 

me, when he offered us to eat skin, we just accepted it without 

thinking at all.” 

“Have you ever told grandmother about it?” 

“No, we never did, we did not think it was insulting, since 

apple was an expensive fruit we thought we just deserve the peelings 

only.”

“No, he was working at the city power billing office; he told 

us that his doctor advised him to eat apples to improve his poor 

health.”

“Well, we visited him once in a while, not on a daily basis 

until we moved out of town when our brother finished his medical 

school.” 

“That was somewhere in early 30's.” 

“Yes, my brother was offered a job in the hospital in Hyderabad 

in 1934 or so when he took all of us with him.” 

“Well, the red apple skin brought an interesting but a very 

disturbing story from your past, the doctor should have treated his 

head first,” said Juggernaut encouraging her to eat more slices of 

peeled apple for good health. This time, we discard the red apple skin, 

it belongs to trash can,” Juggernaut emptied the plate peelings into 

the trash can still wondering about the event that took place over 7
