| Regret and hope go hand in hand. | |||
I wish that she were a psychoanalyst, So I could lie on her couch, And sigh. Then she could nod and understand me, And blame it on my childhood. I wish that she could read my mind, So I could stare at the wall, And she would know that I loved her. Then when I laugh, She would know to comfort me. I wish that we had never met, So I could smile and introduce myself, And so could she. Then we would know, And she could leave and I would follow. I wish that she were any other girl, So I could turn and walk away, And not look back. Then she could feel empty, And know what it is to be me. Tweet
