I was actually flying till I shot myself down...

It is a lonely place to be, here under this umbrella.

I have only the memory of her for company.

I fear that I might soon forget her face,

forget her voice, and forget her eyes.

What would I have then?

I wait for the sky to clear.

These four notes that I play over and over in my mind,

oh, how they jog my memory and bring me peace--but this is madness!

Why did I turn and run from providence?

What fool am I?

I was actually flying till I shot myself down.

Oh, my wings are now broken, warped, and twisted.

Could I ever be found?

God, grant me a second chance, which is all I pray.

One...two...three...four...

I cannot forget.
