What I Want (standard:poetry, 101 words)

About my search for an artistic outlet

Dancing has become an outlet,

What satisfaction I derive,

Where other loves cannot fulfill,

To dance still makes me feel alive.

But pen on paper, is it not

Quite like a dancer on a stage?

I, too, must write to be alive,

To see the words flow on the page.

And yet, to write is not enough,

To be that actress in my plays,

Is what I secretly desire,

A different person, every day.

Alas, to act, a foolish dream,

For music often calls my name,

Since I could talk, I've loved to sing.

And so...how will I achieve my fame?
