A short (very short) story about death. Basically my beliefs (as many others) on where we go after life passes.

Summerland 02/17/02

The sounds of nature gathered all around in a grand symphony. A noise
that many men hadn't remembered in hundreds of years. But there were
such a people who could hear it even today. Then the people seem to
disappear in front of our face. Some people knew from birth they could
hear this melody, but some didn't realize it until they where there. At
any age you can go, it just depends on what your mission is.

In the day the angels and divine spirits searched for these people to
join in the dance. In night the shadows fulfilled what needed to be
done. Every night seemed like a never-ending party. Laughing and
dancing, drinking and eating. Fertile fruit that everyone dines on,
even the meat-eaters. So cool the drink, though it seemed to melt in
your mouth. Cheers and cries from many creatures. From different ages,
to different races. No one was judged by their beliefs. No one judged
because they came from a different place, and had a different face, or
skin, or fingers.

As the dance spun on and on, everyone got so dizzy they just fell to
their feet. Anyone who was still awake after their day of merriment,
they sat and quietly talked amongst each other. So much innocence, yet
so much wisdom, in this place of joy. It took strong courage to look
upon some of the creatures there. To pet the fur of a tiger, and for
the tiger to trust the man not to take it.

But the time must always rise and this party must be over, until another
call. We are spirits and must take shape. We will all be what we've
seen today, and something that we are not. It all depends on how the
balance saw you. Whether you get to stand up to the next step. Living
life, changing and making history is our job. The payment is the
memory. Even if it's not on the tip of your mind, it will forever be
there. --- The End.
