The Delivery (standard:horror, 194 words)

Some deliveries can be unusual.

The young married couple's big day had arrived. 

She was in the Delivery room. Her husband,Robert, sat next to her,
holding her hand, giving her moral support and wiping her brow 
occasionally. 

The Nurse, realising that the moment is at hand, with her eyes fixed on
the Doctor's hands yells, 

" Push, honey, push hard now , we are almost there ! just a little bit
more to go !"she cried urgently. 

The young wife, with sweat beading up on her face, with painful moans
and cries, pushed harder. 

'You can do it, honey, push! Push!" urged the husband, squeezing her
hand tightly. 

The baby's head begins to emerge slowly , ever so slowly. Then
,suddenly, all of the attendants , including the husband gasped ! 

'What is it, Robert? what's the matter?'cried the wife anxiously, seeing
the startled expressions . 

Robert turned white as a sheet staring at the infant 

"It's the baby, Martha " stammered the husband, trembling. 

'The baby?" she asked, her face a mask of apprehension," What, what do
you mean, Robert, what's the matter with our baby?". 

'It hasn't got a mouth!" He replied in total shock and horror.
