So many times at the end of the day, I lay my head down alone again. This is where this poem comes from. My heart.

Please God don't let me be a hand me down woman again.

Don't let me be tossed in the drop box like a pair of worn out shoes.

Yes I am so worn I know; but I'm still here.

I feel, I breathe I love I see.

My heart is so empty of love these days.

No one cares for me as a woman anymore.

But please God don't let them throw me down.

Down that long dark chute with the worn out clothes.

Things that have been used yes that could be me.

Someone I know can still see my beauty though tattered and torn.

Look past my faults my pain my past.

Please don't hand me down before trying me on to see if I fit.

I may be the one you have searched for so long.

A beautiful heart, my soul so full of faith.

Try me on just one time before you throw me away.
