I've Chosen Me 

I never wanted to tell you 

I can't do this anymore 

A choice I had to make 

It was you or me 

I've always chosen you 

And had no regrets 

But that was then 

Now I must choose me 

I can no longer watch 

Would you rather I didn't care? 

True to myself I must be 

That's why not you, I've chosen me 

If I stop caring 

I'm no better than the rest 

If ever you see again, you'd agree 

That's what you love about me 

If you should awake, know I'm not far 

I had to leave, my heart was crying so 

Please speed my return & understand 

I could not choose you-----it had to be me
