trying to communicate. Sarcasticly, he waved back, still keeping his 
siren blazing. 

Finnaly, he arrived at the building, the police had the area closed off,
James jumped out of the car, ran toward the human wall and attempted to 
get threw. 

“Sorry buddy, only family allowed here. But she wont even allow her dad
to come up”. 

“Listen, I can SAVE her. Please. I beg of you; let me through”. 

“Okay, come here”, he pulled him into the area, and shouted “GO! Bring
her back!” 

He ran past the father whom was sobbing uncontrollably, all he could
make out of the jumbled mess of words was, “Ohh-Ohh, why did she do 
this to me”. James felt no sypathy for the pathetic remains of Jane's 
father. He only worried about getting her safe. 

James had gone inside the square sky-scraper and ran to the elevador. It
dropped down slowly from floor 32. When it reached the bottom he jumped 
in and hit the number 80. The doors casually closed and he began his 
excrusiatingly slow climb to the sky. 

Several minutes later, He reached the very top. He walked up a small
flight of stairs and ended up on the top of it. 

Jane's back was facing him and she peered down. 

“Jane”, James wispered. 

“NO! I'll jump if you come any closer.” 

“I just wanted to talk”, He said out loud, THANK GOD THE WIND IS AT A
STAND-STILL, he thought to himself. 

Jane was wearing a short black dress with red high heels, it looked like
she was going back to high school prom. She never looked so pretty, 
WHAT ARE YOU THINKING, SHE IS ABOUT TO JUMP OF A BUILDING, AND YOUR 
THINKING ABOUT HOW SHE LOOKS?!? YOUR STUPID!!! He ignored his thoughts. 


“If you really care about me, why did you break up with me?” 

“Your dad wanted me to, I am not the kind of boy you should like.” 

“Really?” 

Really”, James assured her. 

He ran toward Jane and gave her a huge hug. Then kissed her on the lips,
“I never got to tell you... but I love you”. 

“Oh, I love you too”, Jane said. 

Just then, James herd a snap and Jane stumbled, the heel on her shoe
broke. Jane started leaning over the edge, trying to catch herself. Her 
arms were flailing, James reached out, but was hit by a arm and fell 
onto his back, he looked up just as Jane had fallen off of the edge. 

“NO!”, James screamed, “WHY?! SHE DID THIS WORLD NO HARM!” 

The whole city gasped as she fell to the ground. At least the last word
spoken to her was, I LOVE YOU. 

James never saw her again. He never dated another woman, even up to his
death, exactly 40 years later, on his birthday.
