Three college girls take the New Orleans Vampire Tour and find it's far more than they ever could have imagined.... (If you're ever in the great city of 'Nawlins, the haunted history tours are not to be missed! I promise, though, this is fiction.)

The Vampire Tour

Carolyn and her two friends, Misha and Sandi, were all juniors at the
University of Arizona. When the football team was scheduled for a game
in Baton Rouge, Louisiana against LSU they decided to fly out for the
game and then go see New Orleans over the weekend. The game didn't go
so well for their Wildcats, a 35-3 drubbing at the hands of the Tigers,
but once in New Orleans they started having a the time of their lives.

After spending some time partying on Bourbon Street and having a
fantastic dinner at Mulate's, where they enjoyed live Cajun music and a
smorgasbord of food ranging from chicken to alligator and shrimp to
crawfish, they headed toward St. Louis Cathedral where they were
supposed to meet up with the tour guide who was to give them the
vampire tour they'd signed up for. Carolyn, who'd always been a fan of
Anne Rice's novels and more recently the Twilight series novels of
Stephenie Meyer, was really looking forward to this part of the trip.

“Do you really want to go on this tour, Care?” Misha said as they walked
down the dark corridor lining the French Quarter. The cathedral's
steeple towered against the night sky in the distance. Misha's eyes
were dark, her short hair was a shade of auburn that Carolyn envied and
she wore a tight black and gold blouse she'd found at a shop earlier
that day.

“You scared? Is that what it is?” Carolyn knew that wasn't the case, but
wanted to mess with her friend. What Misha really meant was that she
wanted to stay on Bourbon Street and scope out men.

“Oh shove it, I'm not scared but I was having a good time and now we
have to go on a walking tour around a creepy old neighborhood.”

“Carolyn, you even dressed the part huh?” Sandi laughed. Sandi was an
outgoing party girl and wore a dark blue U of A sweatshirt, but spiced
it up with some gold bling, mainly beads she'd earned earlier by
lifting her shirt for the rowdies lining the balconies along Bourbon
Street. She also wore tight jeans and looked every bit the hot college
coed out for a good time.

“I like this shirt,” Carolyn said. The black shirt with the spider web
design over the shoulders was indeed her favorite and she matched it up
with a polka dot black and white skirt. It gave her an off-center look
that she loved, though she was a bit chilly in the skirt.

“I just meant with your long dark hair and pale skin and wearing
black....you...look perfect for this.” Sandi grinned.

“If you guys really don't want to go on this tour, I will meet you back
at the hotel later.” She hated the idea of them not going with her, but
she was determined to go with or without her friends.

“We'll go, we'll go,” Misha finally said. “It's only supposed to last
two hours and then we'll go back to partying at the club we spotted.”

“I think all three of us can find some male fun to help us forget our
troubles,” Sandi said.

“That's all you two think about, sex, sex, sex.”

“You don't like sex?” Misha smiled at her.

“I like it,” Carolyn said, and then broke out in an involuntary grin.
“It's just not my main priority.”

The three of them turned the corner and saw a small group standing in
front of the huge cathedral with a tall, good looking man dressed in an
old world suit and top hat.

“Well girls, I was just telling the group that we're missing three and I
have a feeling that means you're with us?” The man's voice was smooth
and deep, like some sort of radio man. His immaculate looks matched his
tone, perfectly groomed black beard and strong aristocratic face.
Carolyn stared at him with her friends. “Well, are you here for the
vampire tour or not? HELLO?”
