The Dead Flower (standard:poetry, 96 words)

This is a poem with a universal theme of individuality. I hope you will be able to see the connection.

The dead flower sat alone in the corner

Petals blackened from the lack of sunlight

Taken for granted it was pushed away and forgotten

While the rest of the pretty common flowers were put in a vase

That dead flower sat alone not knowing it was peculiar

A needle in a haystack

A diamond in the rough

As hard as you looked you would never find a more beautiful being

It was the only one of its kind

The dead flower sat alone in the corner of the room

Unaware of its unexplained and unequaled dissimilarity
