This wasn't actually written at midnight. More like 2 in the morning, after a very interesting day...

I sit here crying at the beauty of the world around me, one who has the
time to put in deep thought and the ability to record it. And I know 
the beauty comes with a price; there is another presence here that 
those of the Western world might possibly call 'evil.' And death is a 
part of it, yet so is life. I am living in a teapot. Am I living at 
all? Who is to discern this? The scientists with their theories that, 
while accepted, are as yet not proved; or the philosophers and their 
logics based in quicksand? Who am I to criticize? But what need is 
there for proof? 

There is no one and there is nothing. I cannot myself verify that
anything, even the mind that formulates these words now, exists. A 
bleak prospect for a race of creatures not unlike myself and yet so 
very, very different. And I am a part of it all, as everything is a 
part of me. Is this so bleak after all? Society dictates that it must 
be. I am society too. I am in a teapot. How can I say 'I am'? The 
shortest english sentence. I am. The smallest things wield such power, 
but only in a world that allows them to wield power at all. Small is 
mighty, but in this world, it must be that big is mighty. Small is 
nothing. Yet, the pen is mightier than the sword. Exceptions. 

Let’s do something for the sake of doing something, shall we? Everybody
needs motivation. Nobody does something for the sake of not doing it. 
Such unreasonable, irrational persons are locked away from the world 
that is cradled and sheltered from anything that might disrupt it.
